Holiday Trash Pick Up

Due to the upcoming Holidays residential trash service during those weeks will be as follows:

Thanksgiving Trash Service will be picked up on Friday November 27^th, 2009
Christmas & New Years trash service will be picked up on Thursday December 24^th and 31^st.

March 13^th – Denver St. Pat’s Parade – Watch for Central City’s 1931 Antique Fire Truck and the Infamous Sportin’ House Girls.

June 5/6 – Denver People’s Fair – Visit our booth for information, fun give-away items and much more.

June 19^th – Madam Lou Bunch Day – The 36^th Annual Bed Race. It’s the rowdiest event in Colorado!

June 26^th – Antique Jaguar’s on Main Street – Noon until 4:00 p.m. free and open to the public.

July 3rd & 4^th – (Saturday/Sunday) Main Street event – Music, Food and Family Fun

July 17^th – Golden Cruisers event on Main Street – Vintage cars from the 50’s and 60’s, Noon until 4:00 p.m. Free and open to the public

July 31st - Gilpin County Film Festival at the Opera House

August 13th, 14th & 15th - Central City Jazz Festival (this event is pending)

August 28th - Autism Speaks Roddin’ the Rockies – Music, Food, Booths and Hot Rods and Motorcycles of all descriptions! On Main Street, FREE and open to the public

Any interested vendors must submit a 2010 Vendor Application at least 30 days prior to any or all of the scheduled events. That form will be found under “Forms” at the top of the main page.

City to Purchase 103 Eureka Street!

The City will be purchasing 103 Eureka Street for a purchase price of $175,000. Closing on the property is scheduled for November 25^th and the City will take possession of the property the same day. The City Council has chosen to purchase this beautiful historic building to be used as the permanent home of the Central City/Black Hawk Visitors Center. Funding for this purchase comes from the City’s Historic Preservation Fund. Council and Staff plan to relocate the Visitors Center during the month of December. Please stop by after the New Year to see the space!
