Mission Statement

To serve the community in and around Central City and help create a safer environment through the provisions of quality emergency services, public education and prevention programs with a volunteer force supported by community commitment.

Burn Permit

Burn permits are required within Gilpin County (including the City of Central) when you want to burn slash. Permits are valid only when there is at least 4" of snow on the ground. Camp fires are exempt. Logs larger than 6" and tree stumps are not allowed to be burned. Please see Burn Permit for more information, permit application and procedure.
