Chief Terry Krelle has been with the Central City Police Department since 1991. Before that, he was an officer with the Lafayette Police Department since 1984. He has served in all ranks within the Central City Police Department and was promoted to Chief of Police in February of 2004. The Chief currently has over 25 years of law enforcement experience and is a 1995 graduate of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s National Academy. The Chief is a member of the F.B.I. National Academy Associates, International Association of Chief’s of Police, and the Colorado Association of Chief’s of Police. He is also an assessor of professional standards for the Colorado Association of Chief’s of Police and Chairman of the Gilpin County 911 Authority Board. He is also trained to perform Threat and Vulnerability assessments through the National Domestic Preparedness Coalition.
