Brook has been with the City as the Community Development Director since January of 2004. His experience spans over 19 years in municipal government planning with the last 15 years in Colorado, serving various communities such as Nederland, Black Hawk, Elizabeth and Central City. Brook has extensive knowledge in current and long range planning. He has been involved with $1 billion in land use entitled commercial and residential development, and has developed several long range planning documents, such as Transportation and Open Space Plans.

 BUILDING CODES

The City of Central is currently operating under the 2003 International Building Codes.  Please note that all contractors are required to have a Contractors License and a Business License prior to the issuance of the a building permit.  Fee Schedule is based on the 1997 UBC Table 1-A

 HISTORIC PRESERVATION

The City of Central is located in a National Historic Landmark District. Any improvement/modification/alteration to the exterior of a building located within the City limits is subject to review and approval by the Historic Preservation Commission and/or the Historic Preservation Officer.  For more information regarding the review process and the purpose of the Historic Preservation Commission please refer to Chapter 16, Land use Code, Article XI, Historic Preservation.  List below is a copy of the City of Central Design Guidelines.  For requests related to relocation or demolition, please refer to Chapter 18, Building code, Article VI, Building Moving and Demolition.
